Common Models:

Signorina 16

The Signorina (Miss / Young Lady) model was manufactured during the 1960s to present day. It is an entry level model and is smaller in size.

Estudante 18

The Estudante ( Student ) model is a lower model in the factory series. Suitable for all levels of skill, the model was made from the 1960s up to present.

Espanhol 26

The Espanhol (Spanish) model was manufactured during the 1960s until the early 1970s ( Produced again in the 1980s as Espanhol 26 or Sevilla 26). It is a mid range model in the factory series.

Classico 28

The Classico model appears in the 1960s, commonly in the 1970s and onwards. It is a mid range factory model.

Amazonia 30

The Amazonia model began production in the early 1970s until the 1990s. It is a mid range factory model.

Tipo Autor 34

The Tipo Autor ( Type Author ) model was the one of the top factory models, made in the 1960s until the early 1970s. The Tipo Autor often shares a similar plain front headstock in black to the Serie Artistica models.

Bel Som 36

The Bel Som (Beautiful Sound) model, sometimes printed as Bel Son, was manufactured during the 1960s to 1990s. It is the highest model in the factory series during the 1960 & 1970s.

Serie Artistica / Professional Series

Romeo 1 / 2 / 3

The Romeo models (1, 2, 3 ) named after the founder of the company Romeo Di Giorgio, are part of the Professional Series. Produced during the 1960s into the 1970s & beyond. Small changes in the rating of the wood, changes the sonority of the Romeo 1, 2 & 3 models.

Tarrega

Named after the Spanish composer and classical guitarist Francisco Tárrega, the Tarrega model is part of the Professional Series. First prototyped in the late 1960s, the Tarrega with an oval shaped sound hole is perhaps best known as the guitar of João Gilberto during the second half of his career.

Autor 3

The Autor (Author) was one of the top models produced by the Di Giorgio company. Made from the 1960s to present, the Autor 3 is to Bossa Nova; what the Stratocaster or Les Paul is to Rock n Roll.

Artista 18

The Artista ( Artist ) model is a low range factory model produced for a short period in the early 1970s.

Havana

The Havana model began production in the late 1970s. It is still made today in different formats.

Super Son

The Super Son model appears in the 1950s into the mid 1960s. A mid range factory model, not commonly seen outside of Brazil.

Vibrante

The Vibrante ( Vibrant ) model is a mid range factory model made in the 1960s until the early 1970s.

Nostalgia 38

The Nostalgia model is a high range factory model produced for a short period in the mid 1970s. It is perhaps a prototype to the Guarany models of the late 1970s.

Conservatorio 1 / 2

The Conservatorio 1 & Conservatorio 2 models were built in the late 1970s into the 1980s in a classical style.

Santana C1

The Santana C1 model was built in the late 1970s in a classical style. The name is perhaps a reference to the location of the factory at the time in Santana, São Paulo.

Guarany C2

The Guarany C2 model was built in the late 1970s in a classical style. The name is perhaps a reference to the Guarany ( Guaraní ) indigenous peoples of South America. Guarany models feature a large flower motif on the back of the guitar body.

Bora Bora

Small Clock Shaped model built in the 1970s to 1980s.

Folk 6 / Folk 12

Di Giorgio manufactured two steel string guitars beginning in the 1970s. The six string Folk 6 & the twelve string Folk 12. These can be found with or without tailpieces in woods similar to the classical models.

Invictus 30

The Invictus (unconquered) model was manufactured during the 1960s until the early 1970s. A mid range factory model, not commonly seen outside of Brazil.

Artistico 32

The Artistico model was produced during the 1960s. It is a mid to high end factory guitar.

Signorina Luxo

The Signorina Luxo ( Miss Luxury ) model was manufactured during the 1960s as a premium version of the Signorina 16 model.


Ordem 14 / 18 / 20 / 26 / 28 / 30 / 32 / 34 / 36

Ordem models come in a range of numbers and were produced during the 1960s.

Fora De Série

Fora De Série ( Out of Series ) models are ‘custom shop’ guitars made to order by the Di Giorgio factory. These first appear during the 1970s & are still made today by request.
